3D Community Church Celebrates Grand Opening of New Church building after a Faith-Filled Construction Journey!
Sanford, NC — On Sunday January 4, 2026, 3D Community Church celebrated the long-awaited grand opening of its new church home at 658 Graham Road in Sanford, NC, marking the fulfillment of a vision that began years ago and a milestone made possible through prayer, perseverance, and overwhelming community support.
The journey to this moment began with the groundbreaking ceremony on July 26, 2024, where church members, leaders, and supporters gathered to dedicate the land and commit the project to God’s purpose. That day symbolized the first step toward bringing Pastor Charlie Hickman’s vision, planted more than eight years earlier, into reality.
Since that time, the construction process has not been without challenges. Like many building projects, 3D Community Church experienced delays, unexpected obstacles, and seasons of waiting. Yet through every setback, the church continued to move forward in faith, trusting God’s timing and provision. The congregation remained united, continuing to worship, serve, and grow while believing that one day they would gather together under the roof of their new church home.
That day has now arrived.
The grand opening service was filled with gratitude and celebration as the congregation worshiped together in the new facility for the very first time. Pastor Charlie shared appreciation for everyone who prayed, gave, volunteered, and stood alongside the church family throughout the building process, recognizing the new space as both a blessing and a testimony to God’s faithfulness.
In May 2023, Pastor Charlie launched the vision and framework for the capital campaign known as Project 658, named for the future address of the facility. Through generous commitments, sacrificial giving, and steady determination, the church family pledged over $300,000 toward construction, helping move the project from vision to completion.
3D Community Church remains dedicated to its mission of creating a welcoming, “No Perfect People Allowed” environment where individuals and families can grow in their faith, connect in community, and experience the life-changing hope of Jesus Christ. With the opening of the new building, the church looks forward to expanding ministries, outreach, and opportunities to serve Sanford and surrounding communities.

the Lord uses people to accomplish his plans and we believe that all the resources needed to build our church are within God's people. In May of 2023, Pastor Charlie began laying the framework for the Capital Campaign called Project 658. This campaign is called Project 658 because the address to the future home of 3D Community Church is 658 Graham Road.
On June 4, 2023, Pastor Charlie announced that our church family had pledged over $300,000, over the course of the next 3 years. This is exactly the confirmation he needed to move forward in calling the builder and tell them we are ready to begin! Blessings like this would not be possible without our church families commitment and obedience to God. We are looking forward to watching God's kingdom grow through our church.

As of December 11th 2025, our building is nearing completion. We are in the final stages of inspections and finishing touches, and we are looking forward to moving into our new building in 2026.
